Raul Parra
A pillar of Spanish techno since the mid-90s — vinyl, three decks, technical mastery and the dancefloor instinct of a 30-year career that started when he was 11.
Raul Parra began at home aged 11 (1994), following his older brother's steps. By 15 he was already mixing on three and four decks; at 16 he won the National DJ Championship organized by Pro Audio, becoming residency at the techno room of Arena Madrid with the support of his mentor Dj Pelacha and Radio 3's Zona 3.
In 2003 the newspaper El País, in the 10th anniversary special of El País de las Tentaciones, named him "revelation artist of the next ten years in electronic music". That same year he played Florida 135 and was the youngest artist ever at Monegros Desert Festival. The international leap came in 2011 with Illusion Sound at a London warehouse.
A long-standing resident of Family Club Toledo (with Luis MF) and Play – Puro Techno, his productions have landed on Serial Killer Vinyl, AFU Limited, Unknown Pleasures, I-Traxx Red Editions, Nu Body, Black Montanas and Black Leather. Technical ability + the gift of fusing sounds: each set is an irrepeatable show.
